Project Overview

The North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is a transformative initiative to enhance public transportation in the Los Angeles region. This project will establish a high-quality BRT line that connects key communities, including North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock, and Pasadena. The BRT line will significantly improve mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and promote sustainable transportation solutions by providing a fast, reliable, and efficient transit option.

The BRT system will feature dedicated bus lanes, modern stations, and frequent service, ensuring commuters' seamless and comfortable travel experience. With enhanced amenities such as real-time arrival information, comfortable seating, and improved accessibility, the North Hollywood to Pasadena BRT project is set to become a vital link in the region's transportation network, offering residents and visitors a convenient and eco-friendly way to travel between these major destinations.

Project Description

Coast Surveying, Inc. conducted an Aerial Mapping survey for the North Hollywood to Pasadena BRT Project along Colorado Boulevard, covering 19.6 miles from Vineland and Chandler to Colorado Boulevard and Hill Avenue, including multiple cross streets and major intersections. The mapping extended 25 feet beyond the curb face and covered 200 feet at alignment changes, including a control diagram. The survey was horizontally tied to the California State Plane coordinate system (NAD83) and vertically to the County of Los Angeles benchmark network (NAVD88). Additional field days were utilized for miscellaneous data collection and incorporated into the aerial topography. Legal descriptions and exhibits for easements and property boundaries were plotted based on the latest county records. The final survey drawing, delivered in AutoCAD 2019 format, included an interactive surface model and specific survey point layers, adhering to California's standard surveying practices.
