I-10 Corridor Segment 1
Project Overview
The Caltrans District 8 I-10 Segment 1 Project is a critical infrastructure initiative to improve transportation efficiency and safety along one of Southern California's most vital corridors. This project focuses on the first segment of the Interstate 10 (I-10) improvements. The enhancements include adding express lanes, widening the freeway, and upgrading interchanges to accommodate increasing traffic demands and promote smoother travel.
Project Description
Along with another survey firm, Coast Surveying, Inc. delivered comprehensive surveying and mapping services for the I-10 Corridor project under contract to TY Lin for Caltrans. The team established primary and supplemental project controls, conducted topographic design surveys using conventional ground methods and mobile LiDAR, and verified existing bridge and drainage data from Caltrans District 8. They also performed geotechnical boring surveys and monument preservation, integrating all data into detailed topographic maps and digital terrain models (DTMs) delivered in MicroStation, InRoads, and AutoCAD Civil3D formats.
